The Brief

Extend the family living area whilst creating a more usable external space which could be incorporated within the design. A property of regional interest, the design had to be sympathetic to the landscape and not dominate the home. The design would require planning and listed building approval.

Key Features

Our combination of a sloped standing seam zinc roof, softening the impact on the boundaries and our ultra slim line sliding doors providing an unobstructed view of the garden and beyond, are both key features of the build. 3-part aluminium sliding doors allow the internal footprint to be extended onto the raised decking and the angled extended soffit not only provides a contemporary look and feel, it doubles up as a vital weather shield due to the elevated position.

Design Challenges

No parking, restricted access, small footprint, elevated position, period property of interest where all key characteristics for this project which would have turned many away. But not for Rococo. With our creative and imaginative design as well as our ability to understand our customers requirements and turn them into reality, we were able to produce this stand out home extension. Engaging with planning officials throughout a 12 + month planning process, providing structural calculations, and engaging with building control are key aspects of our complete full-service offering.

Design and Service

Rococo provided our customers with a full design and build service. Using our CAD design expertise we were able to create various options for the customer and present them in stunning visuals. This ensured the final design met their exact requirements.

Once designed our delivery team took over and provided a fully managed project. We liaised and co ordinated all trades, provided extra detailed drawings where required and managed all external professional services such as planning permissions, structural engineers and building control.
