Rococo's Orangeries

Traditionally, an orangery was a building set within the grounds of a wealthy estate which was dedicated to protecting delicate fruit trees during the winter. The fruit trees were predominantly orange and lime trees, hence the name Orangery. Initially they were practical buildings which probably weren’t much to look at, but later they became ornate and decorative. 

The Orangeries we build today are modest versions of those belonging to vast 19th century estates; however they still retain their exotic appeal and they still add great value to your home. 

The luxury Orangeries built by Rococo are usually intended for use as functional family living or entertaining areas rather than an Orangery in the traditional sense. Modern Orangeries can even contain kitchens. They are stunning, breath-taking additions which elevate and enhance the existing home. 

Usually built with glass walls, large windows, roof lanterns or glass roofs, an Orangery is a light-filled, luxurious space. For a modern interpretation, bi-folding doors can be used meaning the room can effectively be entirely opened up, seamlessly connecting the inside and outside.

Rococo's Kitchen Extensions

Our bespoke kitchen extension projects are defined by projection; usually these extensions project 2m – 3m, while they can span the entire width of the house. 

These extensions add additional light-filled space to your home and can make older houses look much more modern with the use of bi-fold doors. They may be a subtle addition, however the end results are no less impressive than you’d imagine – the home is significantly transformed while there is minimal impact on the garden. 

A kitchen extension will dramatically improve the internal living space, flooding it with light and increasing the sense of space. This is a favourite project for families, who can enjoy increased time together, and visibility of children playing in the garden while continuing with household tasks such as cooking.

Which Option Is Better for You?

The answer to this question depends entirely on your requirements, your existing home, and of course, your budget.

If you have limited space to build out into and you want minimal disruption to your garden, while opening up your living area to light and space, consider a Rococo kitchen extension. 

On the other hand, if you have space around your property to build out into, and a larger budget to play with, consider a bespoke, luxury Rococo Orangery.
