Originally developed in 1884 by an Essex ironmonger names Francis Henry Crittall, Steel framed Windows has seen a huge rise in popularity in recently years and are now prominent features both internally and externally on many house renovations. Their sleek design and steel look frames make them the perfect choice for creating a contemporary or industrial look in any home.

 

Whilst the original windows were steel in their structure, in 1950, Crittall began to manufacture aluminium versions, making the brand more versatile in their designs and sizes. And whilst the original windows were not particularly energy efficient, the modern version of these Art Deco glazes doors are now double glazed and as thermally efficient as their rival counterparts, Sliding Doors and Bi Folds.

Using the same core components as the internal doors, Alucos screens and partitions feature the slim 33mm outer-frame and 37mm transoms, with the option for ultra slim 20mm Astragal bars. Depending on your privacy requirements, these can be fitted with either Clear or Obscure glass designs.
